This Tour Was Fantastic!

“Adam and Captain Bryan we’re both great tour guides! Very friendly and knowledgeable and we appreciated the breadth of their tour- we got broad history as well as some specific stories about the region and characters. The bars were great and they were knowledgeable about the local beer selections. We also appreciated that they didn’t shy away from the darker aspects of the area’s history, namely the undeniable fact that the area was built on the backs of slave labor. Highly recommend.”

More About What We Will Do

Both Adam & Bryan have a thirst for not only history but also local watering holes.

Guests will meet at the initial bar location where some complimentary appetizers will be served. Everyone will have the opportunity to purchase some local craft beer or cocktails while the guides (Adam or Bryan) go over a brief personal introduction and history of the City of Charleston.

From there, we will walk to historic sites around the French Quarter including one of the oldest homes in Charleston. Brief stories and accurate historical insight from Adam or Bryan will cover a period stemming from the early colonial days all the way through World War II including topics on the revolutionary/civil war, pirate attacks, and of course alcohol in this famous city.

Guests will be able to seek a brief respite at the 2nd bar location for another small complimentary appetizer and a particular focus will be given to the period of prohibition in Charleston as a city rife with bootleggers, speakeasies, and "Blind Tigers."

This is not a typical "sit there and shut up tour" but rather an opportunity to engage with a licensed guide & historian!
